Here’s a copy of the email I received today:

Hi Brett! Congratulations! You have been accepted as a student for the Eddie Adams Workshop XXI!

Your application went through a rigorous selection process. After the first round of editing, yours was chosen to enter the final portfolio review where a panel of judges selected 100 applications (50 students and 50 professionals). We are very excited to welcome you as a member of the Barnstorm class of 2008!

Barnstorm XXI will be held October 10-13, 2008, in Jeffersonville, NY. Students must be at the hotel on Friday afternoon, and are free to leave Tuesday morning, October 14. Students must be able to be present for the entire Workshop in order to attend.

I almost didn’t apply this year after I didn’t get in over the past 2 years I had applied, but this is a huge amazing shock, and the timing couldn’t have been better.  I have been struggling to push myself with my photography and work on personal projects lately, and being accepted to such a prestigious workshop with editors from National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, New York Times, LIFE, TIME, Washington Post, Pulitzer Prize winners,  is just something I can’t put into words.

I haven’t posted for a while, although I have been keeping moderately busy.  I am happy to be working with Building Bridges with Rwanda on their website and multimedia initiatives, and I have more plans for other projects with them in the future.

Please check out their website, which I completely re-did for them, http://www.bbrwanda.org

Being a techno-nerd helps, and I am really happy with the new site and the amazing new logo that my friend Kittie designed.  It’s always great to see how things progress after you put your hard work into them.
